The International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket World Cup Trophy Tour is coming to Bahrain on 12 and 13 August. Details of this exciting event were announced in a Press conference yesterday by officials from KHK Sports and the Bahrain Cricket Federation (BCF).

The tour is a major event held in the lead-up to this year’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, which will be held in India from October to November. The prestigious trophy was launched into space in June, also as part of the tour.

The stop in the Kingdom will feature a number of events across the island, including a roadshow, a rally at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir, and a trophy display at Dana Mall.

The events are expected to attract thousands of cricket fans from all over the country. The roadshow will start in Juffair and travel through Bab Al Bahrain and Bahrain Bay, before ending at BIC.

The rally will take the trophy around the famous Formula 1 circuit, and there will be an opportunity for fans to take pictures with the trophy. The trophy will also be displayed at Dana Mall, where there will be a number of fan activities.

Fans are requested to register for free to participate in the rally, and to enlist their name to take a photo with the trophy at cricketbh.com/iccworldcup.

Mohammed Shahid, CEO of KHK Sports, said: “One thing is clear: Bahrain has become a sports hub in the region.

“Today, we can see that cricket is emerging in Bahrain, and that’s another sign of the best sporting practices in the Kingdom.” Mohammed Mansoor, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the BCF, commented: “This is a great opportunity for fans to get up close to the prestigious trophy.”

Yusuf Lori, Director of Information and Follow-up for the Capital Governorate, told TDT: “I hope that more Bahrainis will become fans of cricket after this event.” The ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy Tour is a major event for Bahrain, and it is expected to generate a lot of excitement amongst cricket fans.

The event will showcase the beauty, culture, and heritage of the Kingdom, and will help to promote the country as a tourist destination. The 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup is expected to be the third most-viewed sporting event in the world, behind the Olympic Games and the FIFA World Cup.

The tournament is expected to have a viewership of over seven billion people. It will be played in 10 different cities across India, from 5 October to 19 November.
