Saudi Arabia approved flight operations by Mauritania Airlines to the country, with the first direct connection to be operated between Nouakchott and Medina.

Regular flight services on the route will start from April 21, with a frequency of two flights per week.

The approval is part of Saudi Arabian General Authority of Civil Aviation’s ongoing efforts to enhance air connectivity and expand the air transport network.

It also comes amidst a surge in in-bound tourist arrivals in Saudi Arabia in recent months.
