Saudi Air Defense Forces shot down early Sunday morning a drone carrying explosives launched by the Iranian-backed militias targeting King Abdullah airport in Jazan, which is used by thousands of citizens and expatriates.

“We affirm our legitimate right to defend our country,” said Coalition spokesman Col. Turki Al-Maliki.

The attack comes just days after the Arab Coalition’s spokesperson confirmed that the Saudi Air Defense Forces intercepted a drone carrying explosives launched by Houthis in an attempt to target Najran airport.
