Bahrain: Boat crashes into Coast Guard patrol; 3 casualties reported

A boat suspected of illegally catching shrimps as opposed to the shrimping ban intentionally crashed into a marine patrol in an attempt to escape, causing the death of a policeman of the Coast Guard and injuring two others.

Four Asians were arrested onboard at the Shahrakan beach. Investigation revealed various violations related to the boat’s registration and license and the use of runaway workers. The automatic identification device was off. 

Legal proceedings were taken and the Public Prosecution was notified.
