Saudi: Total privatization of health sector ruled out

The Saudi Minister of Finance on Thursday ruled out the complete privatization of Saudi Arabia’s health sector.

The updated executive plan for the privatization program includes around 160 privatization projects that will be launched in the next phase. Saudi Arabia will not privatize the health sector as a service provider completely until a clear picture emerges. However, some sections of the health sector such as radiology could be privatized.

The water and sewage sector has made great strides in privatization, and it will be expanded in the coming year. Privatization plans continue in other sectors, including education and logistics sectors. There will be a remarkable increase in the privatization of projects in these two sectors in the next phase.
