Saudi authorities have laid out regulations for female citizens’ photos in identification cards, according to a local newspaper.

The regulations ban wearing glasses or contact lenses for those photos, Okaz newspaper reported. The females must appear in the ID photos wearing the hijab with a white background.

The regulations also allow female citizens to wear light make-up.

Saudi Arabia has recently obliged eligible female Saudis to apply for the IDs, saying it is the only official identification documentation.
