Saudi: Tons of spoiled food seized in Madinah facility

Saudi authorities have seized more than 21 tons of spoiled and expired food in an unlicensed facility in Madinah.

The violating facility was storing food products without obtaining a license from SFDA(Saudi Food and Drug Authority), amid a low level of hygiene and the presence of insects and dust inside the facility.

The authorities imposed penalties against the facility in accordance with the Food Law and its Executive Regulations, as no facility under the supervision of the SFDA has the right to start practicing its activity until obtaining a license and complying with the requirements and specifications.
