Saudi Arabia to issue, renew residency permits every 3 months

The Interior Ministry has begun issuing and renewing residence permits (Iqama) for expats living in the Kingdom on a quarterly basis; every three months as a minimum, with the exception of domestic workers, SPA reported.

The new mechanism will enable the employer to renew residence permits, work permits, and the financial compensation for varying periods of three, six, nine as well as 12 months.

This service will be available through the platforms of Absher Business and Muqeem.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development clarified that this service can be used, with regard to work permits, through Qiwa Platform and the electronic portal for labour services.
