Saudi Arabia will have a four-day holiday for some workers and students to celebrate the Kingdom’s 94th National Day, according to local media reports.
The Kingdom celebrates its national day on September 23rd of each.
This year, the date falls on a Monday and will see some employees and students given an extended weekend break, according to a report by Al Arabiya News.
Saudi National Day 2024The news source reported that the Ministry of Education academic calendar shows Sunday, September 22 will be an additional day off for school staff and pupils in the Kingdom. It added that some employers will also offer an extra holiday that day.
With Friday and Saturday being a typical weekend for employees in the country, the extra Sunday and Monday, September 23 for National Day will mean a four-day weekend in Saudi Arabia.
Advisor Turki bin Abdulmohsen Al Al-Shikh, the chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), previously announced the theme for this year’s iteration of the national holiday.
The theme “We dream, we achieve,” carried over from last year, highlights the significant projects related to the Saudi Vision 2030 and showcases the Kingdom’s leading role in various fields.
The GEA urged all government and private entities to adopt the approved theme for the 94th National Day.
The theme guide contains guidelines for the logo and its usage in different applications, as well as all related events, news, and images to celebrate this cherished occasion.
The Kingdom celebrates its national day to commemorate the unification of the nations of Najd and Hijaz. The nations merged in 1932 to form the Kingdom, so named after the House of Saud, a family led by the nation’s first ruler, King Abdulaziz Ibn Saud.
The occasion is celebrated across the Kingdom with events, traditional activities and decorations and flags.
