Saudi: Attempt to smuggle 3 million Captagon pills thwarted in Dammam

Saudi customs officials have foiled an attempt to smuggle about 3 million Captagon pills hidden in a consignment of wooden panels through at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) said the pills were found in a consignment received from abroad.

ZATCA confirmed that they arrested two men who were to receive the consignment in a security operation carried out in coordination with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC).

ZATCA said that they have tightened customs control over Saudi Arabia’s imports and exports while calling on everyone to pass any information related to smuggling activity through the Security Reports Center (1910) or via e-mail: and the international number (00966114208417).

The center receives security reports in complete secrecy, with a financial reward given to those who report if the information turned out to be correct.
