The renowned Saudi composer Nasser Al Saleh, whose melodies shaped the Gulf and Arab music scene, has died at the age of 63 in Al Ahsa, following a prolonged battle with health issues.

Al Saleh, one of the most prominent composers in the Gulf and Arab music scene, was born into a family with deep roots in the entertainment industry.

His father owned a music production company, providing young Nasser with an early exposure to the world of music and interaction with famous artists.

He was influenced by the popular musician Isa Al Ahsai, who left a lasting impression on his musical style.

Initially embarking on a career as a musician and singer, Al Saleh soon discovered his true passion for composition, a field where he made his mark.

Over his prolific career, he produced countless timeless melodies, collaborating with some of the biggest names in Arabic music, including the legendary Mohammed Abdu, Kuwaiti diva Nawal, and the iconic Ahlam.

One of his most celebrated works is “Al Amaken,” performed by Mohammed Abdu, a song considered a milestone in Al Saleh’s career and a classic in the Arabic music repertoire.

In recent years, Al Saleh faced health challenges, including undergoing heart catheterisation surgery in January 2022. His struggles were further compounded by mental health concerns, as he withdrew from a radio interview in February 2024 due to feelings of exhaustion and depression.
