An Asian man found dead near Bahrain shore by coastguards was identified as 28-year-old Saravana Ramachandran on the evening of 5th April.
According to the family members of the deceased, scientific verification is necessary as visual identification is difficult since the body is in a badly decomposed state.
A relative of Saravana said that he was working for a company in Saudi Arabia when they spoke to him, last time, on 30th March. When the family tried to reach him afterwards, his phone was “switched off,” the relative said.
“Four days ago we got a call from his office explaining that Saravana’s body was found by the coast guards of Bahrain and that a co-worker had travelled to Bahrain to identify the body. The colleague told us that the body was entirely decomposed but the materials in his pocket helped him identify the body.”
“He further told us that Saravana jumped off the Dammam shore and ended his life wherein it floated and reached Bahrain.
“His co-workers later found a suicide note at one of the bookshelves.
“We did speak to Indian Embassy officials in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia to find more information where they told us that the body will be repatriated back to India, Tamil Nadu as soon as the legal formalities are over,” the relative said.
