Saudi: Five siblings found dead in an apartment

A university student and his four sisters aged between 14 and 22 years were found dead in an apartment in Al Ahsa, the largest governorate in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, according to the local police.

A young man, and four girls, aged between 14 and 19, all from the same family, were discovered dead on a rooftop area of their home. The male deceased was reported to have been found hanging.

The incident is believed to have taken place while the parents of the young people were away from the house with five of their other children.

Neighbors said the father returned to find the door to the family home locked from the inside and came across his dead children while trying to gain entry to the property from the roof of the building.

Assistant media spokesman for the Eastern Province police, Capt. Mohammed Al-Duraihem, said security authorities in Al-Ahsa governorate responded to a report of the deaths on Wednesday evening.

Forensic examinations at the scene have since been carried out and police inquiries were continuing.
