Saudi: Health insurance policies to cover COVID-19 treatment
All health insurance policies issued in Saudi Arabia cover the treatment of confirmed and suspected cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Yasser Al-Maarek, a spokesman for the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance (CCHI), has confirmed.
“CCHI is cooperating with all concerned health agencies, including accredited health care providers like health insurance companies, and government and private institutions, to ensure that adequate health insurance is provided to the insured without any delay,” he said, adding that this would apply to examination, diagnosis, medication, and all other equipment or material not excluded by the patient’s policy.
