UAE: Emirates Diverts Manchester Flight Over ‘Operational Reasons’

Emirates flight EK020 from Manchester to Dubai was diverted to Vienna due to “operational reasons.” The A380 flight left Manchester Airport at 21:00 (BST) and was scheduled for arrival at 07:25 (GST) at Dubai International Airport Terminal 3.

Emirates passengers were also notified of the diversion via a message, which read: “Your flight EK020 on 10 Apr from MAN to DXB has diverted to VIE and is delayed at VIE due to operational reasons. We will rebook your flight to your final destination once an estimated arrival into Dubai is established and send an updated booking to the email address available in your booking. Alternatively, you can also view the changes on Manage your Booking. We’re sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused. If you have any questions, please get in touch with us.”

In March, two Emirates flights from Dubai to London Heathrow were also forced to redirect to different airports, according to the aviation industry website Aerotime Hub. Adverse weather conditions in the UK capital, including strong winds, forced major airlines including Dubai’s Emirates, Air India, British Airways, Lufthansa and American Airlines to reroute away from Heathrow to alternative sites.
