Saudi Officials All Set for 2nd World Defense Show

Officials from Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior are all set for the opening of the World Defense Show 2024 being staged in Riyadh from Feb. 4 to 8.

During the second edition of the global exhibition, held under the title “Equipped for Tomorrow,” ministry chiefs will review plans to develop the Kingdom’s internal security systems and employ artificial intelligence technologies.

They will also highlight the country’s capabilities in maintaining security and solutions for developing safe cities, securing borders, managing crises and disasters, developing field work, preserving the environment, the security of vital facilities, and its contributions to the localization of military industries.

Representatives of the General Authority for Defense Development will also be taking part in the show. Their involvement will coincide with the launch of an authority platform aimed at innovators and creators in sector research and development.

The platform has been set up to help promote ideas for innovative services and products and encourage talents and innovators to contribute to defense development and improve the readiness of the security and defense industry.

During the event, GADD officials are expected to sign seven contracts with companies and national centers working in the field of defense research and development.

Authority employees will also take part in activities including dialogue and thought leadership sessions, and government meeting and future talents programs.

The show, organized by the General Authority for Military Industries, will focus on the joint integration between air, land, and sea defense systems, satellites, and information security, the SPA reported.

It will see the participation of more than 750 exhibitors from 45 countries, and the attendance of 115 delegations.
