Saudi: Most regions to witness low temperatures and rainfall until Sunday

A drop in mercury, and moderate to heavy rain are expected to be witnessed in most regions of Saudi Arabia until Sunday, according to the forecast of the National Center of Meteorology (NCM).

In its latest report, the centre revealed the expected weather conditions in various parts of the Kingdom over the next few days.

Rain is expected to continue in most regions of the Kingdom, starting from Thursday until Sunday, Jan. 15, while medium to heavy rain that could lead to torrential rains is likely to hit the regions of Makkah, Asir, Al-Baha and Jazan.

Thunderstorms are also expected on Thursday and Friday in Makkah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province, while light to medium rains are likely in Qassim, Hail, the Northern Borders region, Al-Jouf, Tabuk and Madinah from Friday to Sunday.

The NCM stated that temperatures are expected to drop until Friday morning in the regions of Tabuk, Al-Jouf, the Northern Border region, Hail, and the north of Madinah, with chances of frost formation, as well as a decrease in temperatures to range between one and five degrees Celsius.

The centre indicated that this drop in mercury will extend to the regions of Qassim, Riyadh, and north of the Eastern Province and hence temperatures in these regions would range between four and seven degrees Celsius.
