Bahrain and other Middle East countries condemn terrorist attack in France
World leaders have condemned the fatal terrorist stabbing that occurred in Nice, France, and resulted in the death and injury of a number of people.
Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended deep condolences and sympathy to the families and relatives of the victims as well as to the government and people of the French Republic, wishing the injured in this terrorist attack a speedy recovery.
It reiterated Bahrain’s steadfast stance rejecting all forms of violence, extremism and terrorism, irrespective of the motives or justifications. It stressed that such acts are incompatible with all human values and principles.
Elsewhere in the Middle East, Arab and Islamic leaders drew a clear distinction between their religion and violent acts that claimed to defend it.
Saudi Arabia also condemned the attack and stressed the importance of rejecting practices that breed hatred, violence and extremism..
Egypt’s foreign ministry said it “stands as a government and people with… France in combating this hateful incident.”
Qatar voiced strong condemnation and reiterated its rejection of violence and terrorism, especially against places of worship and regardless of the motives.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif also condemned the attack, while adding that “peace cannot be achieved with ugly provocation.”
Lebanese prime minister designate Saad Hariri urged Muslims “to reject this criminal act that has nothing to do with Islam or the Prophet.”
The Muslim World League (MWL) also condemned the attack and described it as a “terrorist crime.”
