Saudi: Two people arrested for sodomy in Riyadh

Two people were arrested for committing the crime of sodomy by force in the city of Riyadh.

The security authorities arrested two citizens accused of luring another person and sexually abusing him under duress, according to the spokesman of the Public Prosecution.

The spokesman said that the Public Prosecution issued an arrest warrant against the accused persons and the investigation procedures are underway after their arrest. The spokesman said that the accused came into contact with the victim through a social media application, and subsequently, they lured him and committed the sexual abuse by using force.

The source confirmed the issuance of an order to keep the accused under detention and refer them to the competent court for the trial procedures. The Public Prosecution will plead the court to conduct a speedy trial and award the most severe penalties, including the death penalty, prescribed in the law, to the perpetrators of the crime, the spokesman added
