Saudi underwater heritage facility in the works

Saudi Arabia is planning to establish a centre to protect underwater cultural heritage in the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf.

The initiative was announced by Saudi Culture Minister Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan during an online meeting of the Group of 20 that the kingdom is currently presiding over.

The facility is part of the kingdom’s large-range efforts to preserve its natural heritage, the official added.
