Saudis travelling to China need DNA test, 14-day quarantine

The Saudi embassy in Chinese capital Beijing says citizens travelling to China require a DNA test and 14 days in quarantine.

The measures have been imposed by the Chinese government.

The Saudi embassy said on its Twitter account: “The embassy would like to inform all fellow citizens coming to China of the necessity to abide by the regulations and instructions issued by the Chinese authorities regarding the need to obtain a DNA test that proves no infection with the coronavirus.”

It added: “The Chinese authorities impose a 14-day quarantine in hotels designated for this purpose and at the expense of arrivals. The hotel that was set cannot be changed before the quarantine period expires, and some hotels only accept payment in cash.”
