Under the patronage of First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sport Authority (GSA), President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the 7th edition of Bahrain Sports Day will kick off today at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.
The three-day event is being organized for the second consecutive year by Bahrain Sport for All Association. The celebration is in implementation of a resolution by Presidents of the GCC Olympic Committees to organize a “sport day” in all the GCC member states in the second week of February.
All national sport associations will participate in the functions of the Sport Village that was created by Bahrain Sport for All Association at BIC.
The event includes all individual and team sports and offers the public the opportunity to try all sports in the same place. The event also features other activities including awareness lectures, theatrical and recreational shows, in addition to the restaurants and productive families corner.
Bahrain Sports Day will kick off from BIC at 11:00 am with the organization of an international scientific symposium titled “Sport for All and Contemporary Challenges in the Third Millennium”.
The High Organising Committee has put in place a programme to ensure live coverage of all sports and activities in cooperation with Bahrain TV.
The Cabinet, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, approved in its regular weekly meeting held on Monday, January 9, that Thursday, February 2, 2023, will be a half working day in all ministries, agencies and government institutions to allow their employees to participate in the activities of the “Sports Day”.
