St Christopher’s School Bahrain recently celebrated the graduation of its Class of 2026, bringing together students, families, staff and invited guests at Bahrain’s National Theatre.
The ceremony honoured 156 graduates representing 26 nationalities, reflecting the international makeup of a school that has been part of Bahrain’s educational landscape for generations. HE Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, attended the event, underlining the significance of the occasion within the wider national focus on education and youth development.
A Significant Year for St Christopher’s School Bahrain
This year’s graduation was notable as it marked the final graduating class from St Christopher’s Isa Town campus. For many in attendance, the ceremony carried a sense of closure as well as celebration, with the school preparing to begin a new chapter from August 2026, when senior students move to the new Senior School in Al Raffa.
Reflecting on the occasion, Dr Simon Watson, Principal of St Christopher’s School, said: “Graduation is always a moment of immense pride, but this year’s ceremony was especially significant. The Class of 2026 will forever be remembered as the final graduating class of our Isa Town Campus, a site that has played a central role in the lives of generations of St Chris students and families. As these young people leave us, they do so not only with outstanding academic achievements, but with the confidence, character and sense of purpose needed to make a positive contribution to the world. We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to following their future successes.“
The Class of 2026 also leaves behind a strong academic record. Among the graduates were five recipients of the Crown Prince International Scholarship Programme, the highest number awarded to students from a single school in the programme’s history.
A Class with Deep Roots
There was also a clear sense of continuity in the year group itself. Forty-seven graduates had been at St Christopher’s since Nursery, while another eight joined in Reception, highlighting the long-term connection many students and families have had with the school over the years.
Sarah Harrison, Head of Senior School, added: “The Class of 2026 has demonstrated resilience, ambition and a genuine commitment to supporting one another throughout their time at St Chris. They have embraced opportunities both inside and outside the classroom and have made a lasting contribution to our school community. For so many of these students, St Chris has been their home since their earliest days of learning, and it has been a privilege to watch them grow into the remarkable young adults we celebrate today. We wish each of them every success as they take their next steps and pursue their ambitions.“
As the graduates now prepare for university placements in Bahrain and abroad, the ceremony served as both a personal milestone for the students and a reflective moment for a school community closing one chapter while preparing for another.
