Store openings banned in Saudi Arabia

Abdul Rahman Al-Hussein, spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce, affirmed that the ministry has decided to ban any practices that cause crowding inside or outside commercial facilities in order to protect members of the society from coronavirus.

Holding ceremonies of opening stores and markets or events of launching new products and services have been banned, he said in a statement on the ministry’s Twitter account.

The spokesman said that inviting celebrities and advertisers to commercial establishments and holding commercial competitions that require attendance of the public have also been prohibited, he added.
