Expanding on the success of its community-wide events, the American University of Bahrain (AUBH) has announced the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs for the AUBH International Day 2023, which will take place on the 75,000 square meter state-of-the-art campus on 11 March 2023. AUBH International Day is an annual community-wide event that celebrates “One World, Diverse Nations” highlighting two of the University’s values: diversity and inclusivity. During this yearly event, the community comes together on the AUBH Campus to discover and experience the myriad of cultures of AUBH’s Student Body as well as the diversity experienced in the Kingdom, through gastronomy, music, language, and art. This event also emphasises that the AUBH Community is vested in each student’s unique journey and recognises their heritage. In addition to the international exhibit of world cultures, there will be activities such as a traditional costume parade, an international food court, games, live performances, and a photo booth. “We are honoured by the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, as he represents the values that are the essence of the AUBH International Day. We’re looking forward to the ‘Students vs Professors’ football match coming up” he added. “The University has done so much to keep us safe. It’s so exciting to have so many new faces in the classroom. We also had the opportunities for our hybrids – students who are off campus – to be here as well virtually”, Sociology Associate Professor, Dr. Paula Smith Hawkins, said. “We’ve been waiting a long time to have a […]
