Kuwait: 62 Indian nurses return after being stranded abroad

Sixty-two Indian nurses and technicians working for the Ministry of Health arrived in Kuwait, after being stranded outside Kuwait since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Upon their arrival, they will need to quarantine for 7 days instead of 14 after last week’s announcement by the Ministry of Health which stipulated reducing quarantine time for medical professionals, as they need more help to combat the virus.

Last month, 116 Indian nurses returned to Kuwait as they were part of a group of 400 nurses that were granted permission to enter Kuwait by the Ministry of Health. According to a source that spoke to Al Jarida, the 116 nurses were part of the first batch and more were to follow.

It is unclear if the 62 nurses that arrived on Tuesday were part of the same group of nurses that are approved to return to Kuwait.
