Saudi: Al Mashaer Train Starts Trips to Holy Sites
Al Mashaer metro line had its first trip for this year’s Hajj season on Sunday.
The high-speed electric train will operate for seven days, transporting pilgrims to nine stations to visit the holy sites of Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah, according to Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) conducted all necessary maintenance work and testing for the metro line and the 17 trains operating on it, over a period of 90 days.
SAR said that more than 7,500 employees,including speakers of several international languages, were recruited during the current Hajj season for crowd management in train stations.
