Saudi Arabia to Host the Prestigious World Energy Conference in 2026

Saudi Arabia will host the prestigious World Energy Conference in 2026, the World Energy Council (WEC) announced.

The 27th edition of the global conference will be held from October 26 to 29, 2026 in Riyadh, WEC said. The Kingdom won the mandate to host the conference based on competitive offers submitted by all members of the National Committees of the Council.

The Council has more than 70 members, representing more than 3,000 organisations from the entire energy system.

The World Energy Congress, the world’s leading, most comprehensive and influential energy event, has been supporting energy transitions for more than a century by connecting stakeholders representing all energy interests from around the world.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy, said the country is pleased to host the World Energy Conference for the year 2026, a time considered an important stage for the global energy sector.

“The Kingdom will strive, by organizing this conference, to achieve the goals that the conference aims to achieve, and also what we aspire through the Saudi Arabia 2030 Vision,” the minister said.

Dr. Mike Howard, Chairman of the Leaders Council at the World Energy Council, said Saudi Arabia’s competitive bid clearly demonstrated its strategic vision for the World Energy Conference, as the bid included strong institutional and governmental support.

“The World Energy Conference in its twenty-seventh session will celebrate the legacy of this event with the Kingdom’s strategic vision,” he said.

Bringing together more than 150 executive speakers, 250 speakers, 70 ministers, and more than 7,000 international energy stakeholders, the World Energy Conference will connect sectors, geographies and systems to achieve a more equitable energy transition, Howard said.

The twenty-sixth edition of the World Energy Conference will be held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, in 2024.

The conference is held once every two years.
