Election procedures for voters outside Bahrain issued

Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister and Election General Supervision Supreme Committee Chairman Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda issued Resolution 133/2022 regarding the procedures for electing members of Representatives’ Council for voters outside the Kingdom, which is scheduled to take place on November 8.

In cases of re-election needed, it shall take place on November 15.

The voting will start from 8 am until 8 pm according to the local time of the city in which it is located.

Voting and vote counting procedures:

An identification of the voter is required; passport or other official document, that also prove the voter’s electoral district.

The voter’s list must be marked manually, electronically, or by any other method that has been approved by the Chairman of the Supreme Committee for General Supervision of the Integrity of the Election of Members of Representatives’ Council and shows that the voter has cast his vote.

After the votes have been counted, a report is created that includes the total number of votes cast, the total number of legitimate and invalid votes, the votes each candidate received in each electoral district, and the committee’s decisions. The ballots must be placed in an airtight envelope, along with the data of everyone who cast a vote, and the counting report must be signed by the committee’s chairman and secretary.

The envelope and a copy of its content shall immediately be sent to the Supreme Committee for General Supervision of the Election of Members of Representatives’ Council by e-mail or fax.

Anyone who did not vote at the embassy, ​​consulate or diplomatic mission has the right to vote before the relevant committee in his electoral district if they are in Bahrain on the day of the election.
