Emirates Cancels Some Dubai Flights Due to ‘Severe Weather’

Emirates has announced it will cancel selected flights in and out of Dubai International Airport on September 1 and 2.

Due to severe weather conditions brought on by Typhoon SAOLA Emirates will cancel flights to Hong Kong for two days.

China has issued its highest level of typhoon warning, as winds of greater than 200kmph were recorded as the storm approaches.

Due to the severe weather Emirates has cancelled flights and informed passengers on connecting flights they will not be able to travel.

In a statement, it said: “Due to severe weather conditions caused by Super Typhoon SAOLA, the following flights have been cancelled to/from Hong Kong:

  • EK380 on September 1 and EK381 on September 2
  • EK384 DXB‑HKG and BKK‑HKG on September 1
  • EK385 HKG‑DXB  and HKG‑BKK on September 1

“Customers connecting to Hong Kong will not be accepted for travel at the point of origin until further notice”.
