Philippines approves Pfizer vaccine for emergency use
The Philippines’ Food and Drug Administration has authorised for emergency use the Covid-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech, the first to be approved in the country.
FDA head Rolando Enrique Domingo said the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, which has shown a 95 per cent success rate, could be effective in preventing Covid-19, with which nearly half a million people in the Philippines have been infected.
