UAE passport remains world’s most powerful with access to 175 countries

The UAE passport has once again maintained its lead. It ranked the world’s most powerful passport, as it has added a new exemption from prior visa, thus holder of the UAE passport can enter 175 countries, including 119 without a prior visa, while can enter the other 56 through obtaining the visa online or upon arrival. In other words, UAE passport allows its holder to enter more than 88 per cent of the world’s countries. 

Moreover, it has reduced the number of countries that require entry visas to 23 out of 198 countries, according to the latest update of the “Passport Index” of Arton Capital. According to the Passport Index, the passports of Germany, Sweden, Finland, Luxembourg, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Japan and South Korea came in the second place, as they allow their holders entry to 171 countries, without a prior visa.

Meanwhile, the passports of eight countries: Denmark, Belgium, Portugal, Norway, Poland, Ireland, the United States and New Zealand, came in the third place, as they allow their holders entry to 170 countries without a prior visa. In the fourth place came the passports of five countries: Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, the United Kingdom and Australia, as their holders can enter 169 countries without a prior visa, while the passports of Singapore, Malta, Lithuania, Slovakia and Canada, can enter 168 countries, without a prior visa, according to the Passport Index.
