NEOM The Line In Saudi Arabia ‘Phase One Will Complete In 2030’ – See Stunning First-look Progress Video And Pictures
The first phase of The Line at NEOM in Saudi Arabia is on course to complete in 2030.
In a progress video released by NEOM, Chief Development Officer Denis Hickey said the Saudi megadevelopment is committed to hit ambitious development targets.
He said: “The first phase of The Line will be complete by 2030. We are committed.

“We’ve done a lot of the foundation work, literally and figuratively. I think the construction of The Line is unique in terms of its industrialisation and its modulised approach”.

A narrator in the NEOM video said: “The Line is a civilisation revolution. A transformative new city being built in NEOM Saudi Arabia.
One of the most ambitious projects the world has ever seen is progressing rapidly. Representing the world’s biggest earthworks operation, work continues around the clock”.
Along with footage of excavation and construction work, the video explained that “millions of cubic metres of earth and water are being moved per week”.
Denis said: “The energy within Saudi Arabia at the moment is incredible. I think the plan that is laid out in the 2030 vision statement by his Royal Highness is really clear and I think it has galvanised everybody within the Kingdom and I think NEOM is the pinnacle of an example of that change and it is really exciting to be a part of that”.
The video narrator continues: “This foundation will underpin a city that will set new benchmarks for quality of life. A sustainable city with zero emissions that tackles the big urban challenges faced by the world.
“The Line represents a new way of living, learning from cities across the world to deliver an unrivalled quality of life. In balance with nature conservation, sustainability and economic prosperity to create a more positive future.
Hickey added: “We think there’s an opportunity to create a better model for a city to interact with the landscape and nature and the environment and we think The Line is going to be an example to the rest of the world.”
The flagship project of the $500bn NEOM mega-development, The Line is, a futuristic city set to become home to 9 million residents.
The Line will be 170km long and 500m high, with a footprint of just 34sq km, and residents will have access to all daily essentials within a five-minute walk, in addition to high-speed rail – with an end-to-end transit of 20 minutes.
