Bahrain: Adhari Park shuts down due to financial crisis

Adhari Park, one of Bahrain’s popular amusement parks has shut down its operations due to the non-payment of their Electricity & Water bills. The park bore the brunt due to the impact of COVID-19.

“We have nearly BD 34,000 dues to be settled as EWA bills and we need more time to settle these bills due to the cash flow issues faced by the company. EWA has asked us to settle at least BD 20,000 immediately to reconnect the power. But unfortunately, we are running in a negative bank balance and facing a huge financial crisis.

“At the moment, we are not operating to make a profit but seek assistance to maintain our Bahraini workforce and maintain one of Bahrain’s major tourist attractions. We are one of the main tourist attraction spots in Bahrain which spreads across 165,000 sqm, we provide a complete leisure experience for the whole family, aiming to become the number one family attraction in the GCC.

“Many Bahraini workers are employed with us. It is impossible for us to continue our operation without the support of the concerned authorities” reports The Daily Tribune quoting a source from Adhari Park.

However, according to their social media accounts, the park has remained closed since the month of March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
