Bahrain Defence Force’s athletic team was congratulated on its historic achievement in the first World Military Half Marathon Championships (WMC), which was held in Lucerne, Switzerland.
Among 300 runners from 39 countries who participated in the championship, Bahrain won first place in the women’s team level competition and took first and second places in the women’s individual level.
Viola Jepchumba won first place in the individual women’s race by finishing in 1:07:59, while Ruth Jebet came in second place by finishing in 1:08:22.
