Saudi Arabia, UAE foil drug smuggling attempt

The General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) foiled a large attempt to smuggle over 1.5m amphetamine pills into Saudi Arabia through a truck loaded with corn via Al-Batha port.

In cooperation with UAE and in coordination with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the drugs were seized in possession of a Saudi and Syrian, in Riyadh.

Preliminary legal measures have been taken against the arrested and duly referred to the public prosecution.

GDNC personnel will take necessary measures on whoever violates the regulations of Saudi Arabia with regards to smuggling, promoting, and consuming all types of drugs, in cooperation with relevant security apparatuses in the UAE.
