Bahrain: 8 Sentenced for Violating COVID-19 Preemptive Measures

The Lower Criminal Court imposed fines ranging from BD 1000 to BD 5000 on eight convicts accused of transgressing the preemptive health measures to combat coronavirus (COVID-19) and prevent its outbreak.

The Public Prosecution received notifications from the Public Health Directorate on violation of home quarantine imposed on seven people after mixing up with people infected with the novel coronavirus. During follow-up, it was found out that they violated self-confinement and left their homes on different dates.

A female beauty salon worker was also accused of infringing a ministerial decision to close beauty salons to prevent COVID-19 outbreak by providing services at home.
