Kuwait Municipality Removes 729 Unauthorized Camps

The supervisory teams of the General Cleanliness and Road Occupancy Department in the governorates of Al-Jahra and Al-Ahmadi have intensified their inspection tours to identify camps that were set up before the official camping season determined by Kuwait Municipality, which is set to begin in three months.

The head of the Committee for the Study and Update of Spring Campsites emphasised the commitment to the official camping period, stressing that the relevant supervisory teams will not tolerate any camp set up before the officially designated period of three months.

Furthermore, the Director of the General Cleanliness and Road Occupancy Department in Al-Jahra Governorate, Mohammed Al-Jubaa, stated that their recent inspection tours over the past three weeks have resulted in the removal of 382 unauthorized camps, as well as the impounding of 50 mobile caravans in areas such as Subiya, Kabd, alongside the Radio Station, Jahra, and Mutaala.

In a similar context, the Director of the General Cleanliness and Road Occupancy Department in Al-Ahmadi Governorate, Nawaf Al-Mutairi, mentioned that their supervisory team in the governorate has removed 347 unauthorised camps over the past three weeks, including areas like Kabd, near the Camel Club, Sabah Al-Salem, Sha’ibah, Wafra, Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, and Al-Ahmadi.

The Municipality urges citizens interested in camping this year not to set up their camps before the official period determined by the Municipality, which starts on November 15, 2023, and continues until March 15, 2024. They emphasise that the inspection teams will not hesitate to remove any camps set up before the specified period, calling on everyone to adhere to the regulations and conditions for setting up spring camps.
