Mubarak wins silver for Bahrain at Spartan Oman championship

Nawaf Yousef Mubarak clinched second place in the Spartan Salalah Championship in Oman, in which more than 800 athletes of various nationalities took part.

The race consisted of a 10km distance with 25 obstacles, and Mubarak took the runner-up podium step in the 40-44 professionals age group.

He completed the event in a time of one hour 17 minutes 27 second.

Last year, Mubarak achieved third place in the same championship held in Abu Dhabi, where he won the qualification card for the world championship.

On this occasion, the Bahraini athlete dedicated this achievement to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), and to His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the SCYS, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, as well as to Shaikh Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Obstacles Course Racing Club.

Shaikh Khalid said that the successes achieved is a translation of the continuous support of the sports leadership from HH Shaikh Nasser and HH Shaikh Khalid.
