Saudi: Coalition Navy Intercepts, Demolish 2 Houthi Boats

The Saudi-led coalition has intercepted and demolished two boats fitted with explosives launched by the Houthi militia, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday. This statement was quoted from Col. Turki Al-Maliki, spokesman of the Coalition forces with aim to restore legitimacy in Yemen.

The boats, signifying a threat to regional and international security, as well as to sea lines of communications and international trade in Southern Red Sea and Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, were intercepted and demolished. It is clear that the terrorist Iran-backed Houthi militia attempted to carry out an forthcoming hostile terrorist attack in Southern Red Sea region.

Al-Maliki noted that Houthi militia is using Hodeida governorate as a launch pad for ballistic missile, UAV, and remote controlled booby-trapped boats as well as for non-selective arrangement of naval mines in an obvious violation of the International Humanitarian Law and provisions of the Stockholm Agreement as well as the Hodeida Ceasefire Agreement.

The number of detected and destroyed remote-controlled booby-trapped boats and naval mines has reached 46 and 153 respectively.
