Bahrain: Citizen Jailed For Terrorist Activities

The High Appeal Court has rejected the appeal of a Bahraini man who was sentenced to 10 years behind bars for supporting terror activities in Bahrain after being recruited by a fugitive in Iran.

Investigations uncovered that the fugitive was a member of a terrorist group, namely Al Wafa and he assigned the defendant to receive funds and distribute them to terrorists in order to carry out attacks against security men as well as vital locations in the Kingdom to destabilise the country.

It’s said that the money financed illegal demonstrations, riots and many other activities that meant to undermine the government. The defendant admitted to playing this role from 2015 until his arrest in 2019.
