Oman: Police Evacuate 20 Citizens Due to Heavy Rains

20 citizens were airlifted from a mountainous area to the Wilayat of Dima by police helicopter due to heavy rains in the Sultanate of Oman, said Royal Oman Police (ROP). 

Several wilayat in the governorates of North and South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta, and parts of Muscat, Al Dakhiliyah and South Al Batinah governorates witnessed heavy to medium rains that led to the flooding of valleys and reefs and interruption of traffic, in addition to active winds and hail in other areas.

The University of Technology and Applied Sciences in the Wilayat of Sur in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate also announced distance learning for students due to the climatic conditions.
