Eid Al Fitr 2023 Solar Eclipse, Emirates Astronomy Society Reveals
A hybrid solar eclipse is expected to take place on Thursday, April 20, said Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Astronomy Society.
The eclipse will be hybrid which means it could be total, partial or annular.
The rare phenomenon will be visible in Indonesia, northern Australia and the Indian Ocean between 5:34 to 10:59 (GST).
The eclipse will coincide with the start of the Eid Al Fitr long weekend set to begin on April 20 until April 23. The eclipse, however, will not be visible in the UAE or any other country in the Middle East.
