Bahrain: Celebrating Art and Creativity at ASB

“Art has the role in education of helping children become more like themselves instead of more like everyone else.” – Sydney Gurewitz Clemens

Grade 6-10 students at American School of Bahrain (ASB) presented their creative work, expressing their artistic abilities through different media at the ASB Middle and High School Art & Design exhibition.

ASB’s curriculum encourages and allows students the freedom to express themselves in their own unique ways, promoting and inspiring a life-long love of the arts, and sparking creativity, a key 21st century skill for future success.

Students presented impressive sketches, ceramic designs, pattern designs, and more. Fine arts has been proven by research to promote and enhance learning in other scientific subjects. Therapists say that art provides sensory input and allows children to process the world around them and effectively deal with emotions.

Students at ASB are encouraged to reflect their individual experiences through artistic expression. The ASB Fine Arts Program, which begins in Elementary School, encourages students to explore various media, where they can begin developing and honing their artistic skills into High School.
