Porsche To Premiere New Panamera Model at Dubai Festival

The world premiere of the new Panamera model will be held at the Icons of Porsche festival in Dubai on 24 November 2023 at a special event, with the new model on display to festival attendees on 25-26 November 2023. The sports saloon has already completed the majority of the test procedures, during which the four-door sports car demonstrated its qualities on four continents. For example, tests in the US checked the drivetrain performance at high altitudes and low oxygen levels or verified the performance of the engine-cooling system and the air conditioning in extreme heat. In Scandinavia, the Panamera was driven at very low temperatures; in South Africa, it mastered difficult road conditions; and in Asia, the high air humidity and hours of stop-and-go traffic in megacities posed particular challenges for the overall package. The new model of the Panamera has a completely upgraded engine range with a state-of-the-art focus on sustainable drivetrains and efficiency. The basis of all E-Hybrid models of the new Panamera is a new, more powerful electric motor that is now completely integrated in the transmission housing of the new dual clutch transmission. It offers higher drivetrain and recuperation performance values than its predecessor at […]

Why is the Macan the World’s Best-Selling Porsche?

Gulf Insider drives the top of the range Porsche Macan GTS to find out. By Charlie Cooksey Porsche came in for a lot of criticism back in 2002 when they announced they were going to build an SUV; it just wasn’t something a company known for high-performance sports cars did at the time. But history reveals that they were just the first sports car manufacturer to do so, and most others eventually followed. The Porsche Cayenne was a massive success and became the company’s bestselling vehicle – until 2014 when they launched the Macan which many believe is not just even more fun to drive than the Cayenne, but has better value – which is why it’s now outselling the Cayenne. The 7-speed PDK shifts with lightning-fast precision and is hard to fault. It’s easy to see why this model is so well-liked, it’s an outright joy to drive – a premium crossover that puts a smile on the driver’s face. The GTS, which I drove, is the top-of-the-range Macan with a significantly more powerful twin-turbo V-6 engine than standard models. It has 434 horsepower and will go from zero to 100kph in less than 3.5 seconds. The latest model […]

Interview: Manfred Bräunl, CEO of Porsche Middle East and Africa FZE

2020 has been a difficult year for a lot of industries, automotive included. How has Porsche dealt with the issues regionally and what effect, if any, has it had on the business? It has been a year unlike any other, but I’m pleased to say we’ve dealt with it head on. Naturally, the safety and well-being of our employees was at the forefront of our decision-making. Thanks to flexible business plans, fast support measures, creative ideas and above all, the great support of our Porsche partners across the region, we can be proud of what we achieved. We started the year off well and reported a 5-per cent growth in new car deliveries in the first quarter of 2020. Following the lockdown in the second quarter, which unsurprisingly affected our business, we had the best third quarter results over a 5-year period. What would you say have been the most significant moments and milestones for Porsche throughout the Middle East in 2020? Despite COVID-19 presenting a challenge on a scale which we have never seen before, we took big steps throughout the year that will continue to impact our operations positively in the years to come. What I found most […]
