Saudi Announces Eid Al-Fitr To Begin on Friday

Saudi Arabia to mark Eid Al-Fitr on Friday, April 21, as the Shawwal moon has been sighted on Thursday. According to the sighting committee in the Tumair observatory, the Shawwal crescent moon has been sighted, meaning Ramadan will only last 29 days this year.

In a statement, the Ramadan moon-sighting committee, which convened this evening at the SCIA headquarters to receive news and testimonies, confirmed the birth of the Shawwal crescent. Bahrain will also be celebrating the first day of Eid Al Fitr on Friday corresponding to April 21, the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) has announced.

The panel announced that tomorrow, Friday the 21st, would be the first day of Eid Al-Fitr in Bahrain, based on testimonies from Saudi Arabia, wishing Muslims all over the world many happy returns of the occasion.
