Saudi: Riyadh Bus Service Announces New Bus Stops and Bus Routes

The Riyadh Bus service is set for a massive expansion with more than 1,610 bus stops and 33 routes across the city.

The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has announced the start of the third phase of the city’s bus service as part of the King Abdulaziz Project for Riyadh Public Transport.

It is considered a major pillar of the economic and urban transformation of the Kingdom’s capital city to achieve a qualitative leap in the transport sector in line with the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030.

With the launch of the third phase of the project, the total number of routes now reaches 33 and is served by 565 buses and 1,611 bus stop stations.

The routes cover 1,284km of the total network, which extends to 1,900km.

RCRC said that around 435,000 trips with more than 4 million passengers had been carried out in six months since the launch of the bus service in March.
