Over 40% Of Oman Population Is Under Age of 17

Over 40 percent of Oman’s population is children under the age of 17, according to a recent survey by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

Children account for 44 percent of the country’s population, an increase of 16 percent from 1,051,862 to 1,221,751 since 2017.

The highest concentration of children is within the cities of Muscat and Batinah, collectively at 39 percent. Musandam and Wusta have the least number of children (2 percent).
