Bahrain-India: Two flights scheduled in phase-2 repatriation

The second phase of India’s repatriation drive began yesterday, Saturday (16 May). As part of this, Air India Express will operate two flights from Bahrain to India.

On May 19 (Tuesday), Air India Express flight (AIE) IX 0889 will leave from Mumbai with passengers to Bahrain and will depart from Bahrain as flight (AIE) IX 0890 at 1:30 p.m. local time on Tuesday to Hyderabad with stranded Non-Resident Keralites reaching their destination the same day.

On May 22 (Friday), Air India Express flight (AIE) IX 0473 will leave from Thiruvananthapuram international airport with passengers to Bahrain and will depart from Bahrain as flight (AIE) IX 0474 at 1:35 p.m. local time on Friday.

Air India and its low-cost subsidiary Air India Express will operate 149 flights to bring back 30,000 more stranded nationals from 31 countries. Under the first phase, over 12,000 of the expected 14,800 citizens have already arrived in India. More flights are underway.

Vande Bharat Mission’s second phase will see repatriation flights from countries including the USA, the UK, Australia, Italy, Russia, Canada, Philippines and UAE.
