Oman: Transit travellers to pay fee from January

Oman’s Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology issued amendments to the Civil Aviation Regulations adding a fee of OMR 3 for each transit passenger.

The decision stipulated: “The transit passenger fee shall be in Article 87 of the executive regulations of the Civil Aviation Law referred to as a fee of OMR 3 for the transit passenger.”

The new fees will be applied from January 1, 2021. According to article 87 of the executive regulations of the Civil Aviation Law transit passengers were exempt from the departure fees for international flights at the Sultanate’s airports, which amount to OMR 5.
